I WANT TO SEW MASKS
Pattern and Drop-Off Information
OFFICIAL MASK PATTERN
There are many different versions of mask types on line. You can see the pattern for the kit mask for one model.
MASK MAKING MATERIALS:
Fabric should be 100% tightly woven cotton. Make the front and back different colors. If the outer fabric is very tightly woven (you cannot see through the fabric), the inner layer can be thin. Interfacing is not necessary. (And many home sewing machines can’t handle the bulk of the interfacing when the layers are folded.)
PROTOCOL:
It is not necessary to wash the masks. Please write the number of masks in the bag.
If you do want to follow the wash and dry protocol, please mark the package CLEAN and DATE.
Wash the masks with hot water and dry in a dryer. Use gloves to remove the masks from the dryer, and
package in a clean zip-lock bag.
MASK DROP SITES (Look for a covered container):
Twisp Grange
Winthrop Town Hall
Mazama Store
Pateros Brewster Community Resource Center
Deposit the packaged masks at any drop site listed above. We have volunteers who will periodically transport donations from the drop sites to the storage site. Masks will be stored and inventoried at the Twisp Grange. Distribution will follow from there.
Thank you. Hats off to sewers! Be well!
